The original conditions in a container filled with gas at constant temperature are 183 ml and 310 mmhg. the desired new volume is 90.6 ml.what is the required new pressure? mmhg

for this question we use Boyle's law which states the relationship between pressure and volume. At constant temperature, pressure of a gas is inversely proportional to volume of a gas.
PV = k
where P-pressure, V - volume and k - constant
Therefore P1V1 = P2V2
where parameters for 1st instance are on the left side and parameters for the 2nd instance are on the right side.
183 ml x 310 mmHg = 90.6 ml x P2
P2 = 183 x 310 / 90.6
= 626.16 mmHg
pressure required is 626.16 mmHg
