Don is 6 feet tall. At a given time of day, he measures his shadow to be 13 feet long. At the same time, he measures the shadow length of a nearby tree to be 52 feet. How tall is the tree?

There are two ways that both work you can do X=6/13 X=0.461 then you multiply 52 by X. 52(0.461)=24

Or you can do 52/13 = 4
Then 4(6) = 24 both are correct so just chose the way your teacher wants ;)

Answer:

24

Explanation:

We will use the proportional concept to solve it.

So, 6/13 = x/52

x = 6*4

x = 24

So, height of tree is 24 feet
