first let's covert ft to inches:
tiles- 6×6 = 36 sq. in.
floor- 3ft×2ft. = (3×12)×(2×12) = 36×24
= 864 sq. in.
now divide total (floor) by each tile:
864÷36 = 24 tiles

How many six-inch by six-inch square tiles are needed to cover a three-foot by two-foot rectangular section of floor?
