Which of the fractions shown has the greatest value?

A) 2/4
B) 4/7
C) 1/3

C and D are obviously not the correct answer because A is obviously bigger than C and B is obviously bigger than D so the 2 we need to figure out are A or B. First we need to find the least common denominator for A and B. So we keep multiplying and we get 28. So 28 is our least common denominator. We know that 2/4 is 1 half. One half of 28 is 14. So A is a value of 14/28. Now we need to find the value for B we multiplied 7 4 times to get to 28 so we need to do 4/7 x 4/4 which is 16/28 now 16 is higher than 14 so the answer is B.
