I would say the distance. The dependent variable is basically what's being affected by the independent and would easily have a different result if faster or slower.
the speed of the car, the distance, and the car itself is not dependent on anything. the time, however, is dependent on the speed.

C the distance.. distance traveled depends on the amount of time..
