Newton's second law states that when a net force F is applied on an object of mass m, the object has an acceleration a given by the formula:

F=ma
In our problem, we have a discus of m=5 kg, and a force of F=50 N is acting on it. So, the acceleration of the discus is

a= (F)/(m)= (50 N)/(5 kg)=10 m/s^2
