Read it and answer the questions.

Nathaniel Hawthorne was an American writer. He was a spell-binding story-teller. He wrote many stories for the young people of his times. He even rewrote some of the Greek stories in English in his own charming style. There is a very touching story about him. It is about how he started telling stories.
Before he became famous as a writer. Nathaniel Hawthorne earned his living as a clerk. However, he had no taste for the kind of writing that a clerk had to do. So he could not win the good opinion of his employers. Every day, he sat in his office and worked for as long as he could. Yet, his employers had nothing but complaints to make about him.

1. Hawthorne's employer made him sit in his office and work for a long time. However, his employer still complained about him.

2. Hawthorne did the work because he needed the job to earn a living.

3. The problem was that Hawthorne was not interested in his job. He didn't like the kind of writing that was involved in his clerk job.
