What dose the phrase "away went alice like the wind" most likely mean as used in paragraph 11

This quote means that Alice went away swiftly. The White Rabbit is quickly moving ahead of her, scampering away because he is running late. She has entered into Wonderland, and her curiosity is sparked, so she must follow him quickly. It also can be perceived to mean that, just as wind comes and goes without a visible change, Alice has "crossed over" from reality into Wonderland quickly.

Alice moves very quickly, possibly running.
