A wood board 100 cm long is cut into two pieces. One piece is 26 cm longer than the other. What are the lengths of the two pieces?

Answer:

the little peice (x) is 37 cm

the second piece(x +26) = 37 + 26 = 63 cm

Explanation:

think the little or second piece is x

and another piece is (x + 26)

according to question,

x + x+26 = 100

2x + 26 = 100

2x = 100 - 26

2x = 74

x = 74 ÷ 2

x= 37
