Take the carbon cycle, for instance. Carbon gets recycled within an ecosystem through photosynthesis, animal and plant respiration, the decay of dead organisms, auto and factory emissions from burning fossil fuels, and so on. It is constantly being exchanged among the biosphere. Hope this helped :)
