Try this option:
if
f(x)= (x+2)/(4x+4)
then according to

\lim_(x \to (-1-0)) ( (x+2)/(4x+4))=+ \infty
and
\lim_(x \to (-1+0)) ( (x+2)/(4x+4))=- \infty
an equation for vertical asymptote is x=-1.
