Melinda walks farther by 0.025
~You need to have everything into one form so I like to convert everything to fractions so take the top numerator divided by the denominator.
5/8=0.625
0.65-0.625=0.025
I hope this helps you:)

Melinda:13/20 miles
Clayton: 5/8 miles
We need to find a LCM
40
Melinda: 26/40
Clayton: 25/40
Melinda goes farther by 1/40 of a mile.
