C. Good ethics are a way to achieve good profits

The Instrumental view describes ethics as a means to an end. Meaning that ethical behavior is a tool to achieve a goal. An example of this would be a store owner being polite to customers. His politeness is the ethical behavior that keeps his customers coming back and increases his profits.
