You bought a stock one year ago for $ 50.00 per share and sold it today for $ 55.00 per share. It paid a $ 1.00 per share dividend today. What was your realized return?

A realized return is the actual return on an investment including dividends, interest and other distributions.

Bought = $50
Sold = $55
$5 = $55 - $50

Take the difference in profit and add $1 for the dividend pay out = $6 realized return.
