Roberto's toy car travels at 40 centimeters per second (cm/sec) at high speed and 15 cm/sec at low speed. If the car travels for 15 seconds at high speed and then 30 seconds at low speed, what distance would the car have traveled?

Answer:

Explanation:

15 seconds at high speed

1 sec = 40 cm

15 sec = 40 x 15

15 sec = 600 cm

30 seconds at low speed

1 sec = 15 cm

30 sec = 15 x 30

30 sec = 450 cm

Total distance = 600 + 450 = 1050 cm
