1) Louis Pasteur, French chemist and microbiologist who was the first scientist to support the germ theory of disease, that diseases are caused by microorganisms. With his research. Pasteur hypothesized that microbes also caused disease in the body. 2) Joseph Lister is one of the pioneers of Infection Control. He reduce the incidence of wound infection by the introduction of antiseptic surgery using carbolic acid, he was also the first to apply Pasteur's principles to humans. 3) John Snow was one of the founders of epidemiology, His hypothesis that cholera was spread by contaminated water in London helped in the control of the epidemic.
