There are many ways to solve this. For this problem I will use the FOIL method.

F - first

O - outer

I - inner

L - last

Multiply the first term in each parenthesis ---> 6x^2

Multiply the outer terms in each parenthesis ---> -12x

Multiply the inner terms in each parenthesis ---> 2x

Multiply the last terms in each parenthesis ---> -4

Combine these together:

6x^2 -12x + 2x - 4

Combine like terms:

6x^2 -10x - 4
