6x - 10 = 8
Six times a number decreased by 10 is 8
Your equation is
6x - 10 = 8
Now solve for x
6x - 10 = 8
Add 10 to each side
6x - 10
+ 10
= 8
+ 10
6x = 18
Divide each side by 6
6x ÷ 6 = 18 ÷ 6
x = 3
