What is 8 3/4 + 2 1/4? (Fractions)

Hello there!

We first, take out the whole numbers.

(8+2)=10.

3/4
+1/4= (1).

We understand this main because 3/4, is almost 1. 1/4 is .25 of 1.

If we add, 3/4=.75+1/4-.25, this would give us (1).

Then we add the whole numbers, and also the fractions, and then this would give us 11.

(8+2+(1) which was added from the fractions) would then give us 11.

Your correct answer would be (11).

8 3/4 + 2 1/4 = 10 4/4 = 11
