Circe's Cup

When he is listening to the stories that all contradict each other and cannot be explained, the Duke says "I think you all have drunk of Circe's cup." This is in reference to Greek Mythology: Circe was said to have magical potions that people would drink from her goblet and it would cause crazy visions or stories.
