You have been mining for gold and you have found a nugget and are about to be rich. The density of the gold is 19.3 grams/cubic centimeter or g/cc.

Your sample has a mass of 972 grams and is nearly a perfect cube, each side measuring 3 cm.
Find the the density of your sample (HINT: you must find the volume of the cube first).
After you've done this compare the given density of gold to your calculated value. Is your sample pure gold? EXPLAIN.

volume= 3^3= 27cm3
density= mass/volume
972/27 = 36g/cm3
the Desity of gold is it's property, and it's given as 19.3
but what we got is 36
so there is a change in density
which means that gold is not pure here.
