Which rule describes a translation that is 8 units to the right and 2 units up?

(x, y) (x - 8, y + 2)

(x, y) (x - 8, y - 2)

(x, y) (x + 8, y - 2)

(x, y) (x + 8, y + 2)

(x-8, y+2).

When translating figures, a translation to the right subtracts from the x-coordinate (sort of the opposite of how we think of graphs that go to the right). Translations up would be adding to the y-coordinate.
