Here's what you know:

· Kevin's age is 4 times Daniel's age.
· Kevin's age is 6 more than Daniel's age.

In numbers:
· 4d
· d + 6

where d is Daniel's age. Kevin's age is constant, and both expressions represent his age, so you can set them equal to each other to solve for d.

4d = d + 6
4d - 6 = d
-6 = -3d
2 = d

Daniel is 2 and Kevin is 8.
