so L = 3 W

Replacing L by 3W in the equation of the perimeter becomes

8W =60

W = 60 /8

W = 7.5

Snce L = 3W

L= 3 (7.5)

L = 22.5

Therefore the Length is 22.5 inches, and width is 7.5 inches.
