That is false. The terminal electron acceptor in aerobic respiration is oxygen. Together with H+ ions water molecules are formed. O2 + 4 e- + 4 H+ ==> 2 H2O. No, it is the other way round: The terminal electron acceptor in aerobic respiration is oxygen.
