At t=1 minute, the reading will be 40.00 °F.

Every half-minute, the temperature difference from the 30 °F air temperature is divided by 2. After 1 minute, the initial 70-30=40 degree difference will be divided by 4. The thermometer will read 30° +40°/4 = 40°
