The formula for finding the surface area of a cylinder is as follows:

A = 2
\pi rh + 2
\pi r^(2)

Since we know the values of the radius and the height (and we know Pi = 3.14), we can plug these in to our formula and solve to find the surface area:

A = 2 (3.14) (16) (9) + 2 (3.14)
16^(2)

A = 904.32 + 1607.68

A = 2512

The approximate surface area of this cylinder is 2,512
m^(2)
