To solve this problem, multiply 250 g by the latter. It's the same as dividing the mass by the density, but that's really not important here. As long as the units cancel out to a volume unit, everything's fine. 250 g x (1 cm3 / 8.9 g) = 28 cm3

Answer:

The mass of copper piece is 44.8 grams

Step-by-step explanation:

Density is defined as amount of mass present in the unit volume of the substance.

Mathematically written as:

\text{Density of substance}=\frac{\text{Mass of substance}}{\text{Volume of substance}}

We are given:

Density of copper, d =
8.96 g/cm^3

Mass of copper piece = M

Volume of the copper piece = V =
5.0 cm^3

Putting values in above equation, we get:

8.96 g/cm^3=(M)/( 5.0 cm^3)

M=8.96 g/cm^3* 5.0cm^3=44.8 g

Hence, the mass of copper piece is 44.8 grams
