You're looking for a number
x such that

\frac x{60}=(60)/(100)=60\%

Multiply both sides by 60, so that

(60x)/(60)=(60^2)/(100)\implies x=(3600)/(100)=36

Another way of doing it: you can easily find that 10% of 60 is 6. Then 60% would be 6 times 10%, and 6 times 6 is 36.

If we want to find 60% of 60, we can solve by multiplying 60 by 0.6.

60 x 0.6 = 36

If we wanted to do it another way, we could multiply 60 by 0.5 and 0.1 seperately and add those numbers up.
