C. Natural. John Locke was strongly influential in Thomas Jefferson writing the Declaration of Independence. John Locke argued that while certain liberties must be given up by citizens to their government, the concept of natural rights that man is born with are destined to stay. These include life, liberty, and property in the words of John Locke. Thomas Jefferson similarly echoed similar sentiments, by stating the natural rights of man include life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
