Vulvodynia is actually a medical term commonly used to describe a condition of severe and long-lasting pain around or near the vaginal orifice. This condition lasts at least 3 months. The irritation or burning sensation associated with this condition makes a patient feel uncomfortable when having sex or sitting for relatively long periods of time.
