3x - y = 2
x + y = 6
This system is already in a nice form to do the elimination method on the y variable.
We simply add vertically.
4x = 8.
x = 2. The x-coordinate of the solution is 2.
We can plug the value in to find y if needed.
2 + y = 6.
y = 4.
