He folds a piece of paper into three parts and shades two parts. Then he folds the paper into four parts and shades 1/4 of the shaded part. Ricardo decides he needs 1/4 cup of olive oil. Is he right? Answer:

Ricardo is wrong.

Explanation:

Ricardo's recipe for 4 loaves of bread requires 2/3 cup of olive oil.

Now we are given that he wants to make 1 loaf.

So, 4 loaves requires cup of oil =
(2)/(3)

So, 1 loaf requires cup of oil =
((2)/(3))/(4)

=
(2)/(12)

=
(1)/(6)

Thus he requires 1/6 cup of oil to make 1 loaf .

While he decided he needs 1/4 cups .

So, Ricardo is wrong
