brandon decided to hike in the mountains a total distance of 14.4 miles. he averages 2mph for the first part of the hike and 3 mph for the second part. if the total hike took 6 hours, how many hours did he hike the second part?

x- the time with 2 mph
y- the time with 3 mph

x+ y= 6 | *-2
2*x+3*y = 14,4

-2x -2y= -12
2x +3y=14,4
----------------------
/ y= 2,4 h in the second part
x= 6-2,4
x= 3,6 h
