Because that’s what a government and the media do, they control everything we hear and filter out stuff that we need to know and don’t need to know.

Answer:

The American government control the news and information received by the people in the war because radio became one of the broadcasting systems through which American hear about the battle and casualties. It was necessary to regulate what the people hear about the overseas war, which would not disturb them deeply. The government also controlled the information because of the enemies who would try to defeat them in war after getting sensitive information.
