Let us assume the red skittles be y

And, the yellow skittles be x

The first equation is

x + y = 61

And, the second equation is

y = 2x + 10

Now put the second equation in the first equation

x + 2x + 10 = 61

3x = 51

x = 51 ÷ 3

= 17

And, y = 2 (17) + 10

= 34 + 10

= 44
