There are many ways to ease stress. A person could turn on serene music, close their eyes, and meditate. They could go to a yoga class. They could go get a massage. They could also go talk to someone who is in a similar situation or who has been. This person may be able to help them gain insight or calm them down. A person might also try essential oils such as lavender.
