Hi Connor.

First, let's define the formula for finding the circumference of a circle (as a tire is a circle). To find the circumference, multiply by diameter by Pi, or
\pi, or you can multiply the radius by 2 and then multiply that product by Pi. Given that we already have our diameter, let's use
\piD.

3.14 x 2.5 = 7.85.

For part A: The circumference of the tire is 7.85 ft^2.

Now, to solve for part B; since we have our circumference, or the full rotation of the tire, we need to divide 1 mile (5,280 ft) by that number.

5,280 / 7.85 = 672.611

For part B: The tire will have to rotate about 673 times.

I hope this helps!
