okay if you're looking for the area of this shape. first, find the area of the triangle protruding from the left of the rectangle. (formula is A= Height X base divided by 2) we can take that the longer side of the triangle is 10 yards because the bottom left tells us that the leftover side is 5 yards. 15 (the other side) minus 5 is 10 so now we have 17 on the top, which we subtract 10 from (taking 10 from the opposite side) and now we know the triangle is a 10X5 triangle plug in the formula (10X5)/2= 25. NOW. we need the area of the rectangle. simple its length times height so its 15 times 10. which is 150. now we add the two together giving us 175 yards
