The Philippine Trench is a submersible channel to the east of the Philippines. It has a diameter of roughly 1,320 km and a breadth of approximately 30 km from the middle of the Philippine archipelago of Luzon which links south-east to the northerly Maluku archipelago of Halmahera in Indonesia. Its most extensive point, the Galathea Depth, has a bottom of 10,540 meters which is nearly 34,580 feet.
