Micromegas was written from the viewpoint of an alien and his companion observing human society and making fun of it's self-centeredness. As the alien was 20,000 foot tall, I doubt if man would have been intimidating, or dignified for that matter. The two aliens were surprised by the warlike nature of humanity however, which makes option C a possibility.
