check the picture below.

notice, the green numbers are the given ones, and the red ones are the implicit ones.

since we know both triangles are congruent, then all their sides as well as angles are congruent as well.

so if triangle ABC has sides of 24 and 36, so does triangle DEF, and if triangle DEF has a side of 48, so does triangle ABC.
