The Cuban Revolution (Spanish: Revolución Cubana) was an armed revolt managed by Fidel Castro's revolutionary 26th of July Movement and its allies against the authoritarian government of Cuban President Fulgencio Batista. The revolution began in July 1953 and continued sporadically until the rebels finally deposed Batista by New Year’s Day 1959.

Batista took all the spoils he could gather up and flee. Batista authorized his subordinates to bargain with Castro and the rebels. The people of Cuba took to the streets, joyfully greeting the rebels. Cienfuegos and Guevara and their men entered Havana on January 2nd and disarmed the remaining military installations.

Summing up, as as result of the Cuban revolution the President Fulgencio Batista was overthrown in 1959.
