Following WWII, one of the biggest goals of the allies was to establish the United Nations. The United Nations was established on October 24, 1945 following WWII and was made to replace the League of Nations which was ineffective. The Goal of the UN was to prevent another conflict like WWII. In 1945 when it was founded it had 51 members, today, it has roughly 193 members.
