area = π r²

area of the required sector = (80/360) π * 15²
≈ 157.08

Answer:

The area of sector GPH is equal to
50\pi\ units^(2)

Explanation:

we know that

The area of a circle is equal to

A=\pi r^(2)

we have

r=15\ units

substitute

A=\pi(15)^(2)=225 \pi\ units^(2)

360\° subtends the complete circle of area
225 \pi\ units^(2)

so

By proportion

Find the area of sector GPH

(225 \pi)/(360)(\ units^(2) )/(degrees) =(x)/(80)(\ units^(2) )/(degrees)\\ \\x=80*225\pi /360\\ \\x=50\pi\ units^(2)
