Here the steam is condensed at 100⁰ C, and mass of steam, m is given as 16.5 g.

We have provided with the value of heat of vaporization that is given as

Hv = 2260 J g⁻¹.

This process is an exothermic reaction.

Value of energy can be calculated using the equation:

[tex]q= m\times Hv[\tex]

by putting the value of Hv and m and in the equation, we will get q, the energy released.

[tex]q= 16.5\times 2260[\tex]

q= 37290 J

and as it is exothermic reaction so the value of energy release will be -37290 J.
