Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

I think the chicken because you can’t have an egg without a chicken to lay it.

Hey there!

When I was a kid, my dad would tease me about this all the time XD He would say the egg because you need an egg to have a chicken. I feel it's based on opinion, so I'm just going with what I grew up with :P
