Find the area of the following circle. ( = 3.14; round answer to the nearest whole number). Circumference = 120 cm. (Hint: Find r from C = 2r (round r to tenths); then find area). Area = cm2

Circumference = 120
==> 120 = 2*pi*r

r = (120)/(2\pi) = 19.1

A = \pi r^(2) = 19.1^(2)\pi = 1145.5 cm^(2)

Answer:

Area of circle is 1145.50 cm²

Explanation:

Given : Circumference of circle = 120 cm

We have to find the area of the given circle.

Consider the given circle

We know circumference of circle =
2\pi r

Thus,
120=2\pi r

Put π = 3.14

We have,

120 =2* 3.14* r

Divide both sides by 6.28, we have,

r = 19.1 cm

Now, area of circle =
\pi r^2

Put r = 19.1

We have

Area of circle = 1145.50 cm²

Thus, Area of circle is 1145.50 cm²
