Some one help me with this question!

One of the halves on the Hoover Dam releases 40,000 gallons of water per second. What is the rate, in gallons per minute?

If 40,000 gallons / second is coming out, we can determine the flow rate in gallons / minute by multiplying 40,000 by 60 seconds / minute

40,000 gallons / second * 60 seconds / minute = 2,400,000 gallons / minute

This way, the seconds cancel out and we are left with 2,400,000 gallons / minute
