Choose the polynomial that is written in standard form.

xy^3 + 4x^5y + 10x^3

x^4y^2 + 4x^2y + 8x

-9x^4y^2 + 4x^3y^5 + 10x^2

x^6y^3 + 4x^4y^8 + x^2

The second polynomial,
x^4y^2+4x^2y+8x, is in standard form.

Standard form is when a polynomial is written in order of its degree, from highest to lowest.

The degrees of the first polynomial, in the order given, are 4, 6, 3. This is not greatest to least.

The degrees of the second polynomial, in the order given, are 6, 3, 1. This is greatest to least.

The degrees of the third polynomial, in the order given, are 7, 8, 2. This is not greatest to least.

The degrees of the last polynomial, in the order given, are 9, 12, 2. This is not greatest to least.
